Korean education

The Koreans have achieved a remarkable feat: the country is 100 percent literate, and at the forefront of international comparative tests of achievement, including tests of critical thinking and analysis. But this success comes with a price: Students are under enormous, unrelenting pressure to perform. Talent is not a consideration — because the culture believes in hard work and diligence above all

god paradox

the paradoxical idea that if we were to believe in a higher power, we would, on the one hand, have to believe that “God” wants all creatures to be happy and, being almighty, can make that wish manifest; on the other hand, we’d have to acknowledge that all creatures are not happy, which renders that god lacking in “either goodness, or power, or both.”

living

Living. Twigs blowing, leaves falling, Birds crowing, rivers calling, Temperature rising, sun climbing, Clouds despising, moon dimming, Flowers shining, bees humming, Fish dining, cows gumming, Mist shimmering, light warming, Streets glimmering, hunger forming.

silence

Silence. Allow the silence to creep in through the glass, Shadows on the wall playing in the grass, Heavy shoulders and beating heart, Mind thinks you will depart

carreful

Careful. Beware of the moon dancing though night, Beware the moon with its wayward light She knows far more than you or I She knows better to reveal all to you and I For today always tries to blind For today wants you to forget what’s behind.

1) the school administrators should regularly supervise teaching to enhance student education and teacher development; 2) they should focus on academic affairs, do justice to teachers, and act as a good example; 3) they should promote teachers to do their best in teaching focusing on student-centered learning; 4) they should value and utilize local wisdom to support teaching and learning; and 5) the teachers should develop the value of spending money wisely. Regarding students:

1) teachers should have a variety of study activities for students; 2)students should be motivated or inspired to learn actively and meaningfully by inviting outstanding successful persons to meet them; 3) students should be promoted to get self-discovery learning; 4)teachers should seriously improve their teaching methods and evaluation to enhance students* application of knowledge gained; 5) students should be provided with opportunities to enhance their desirable abilities and skills by joining activities of the schools. The problems of English proficiency in Thailand

can’t be separated from issues of cultural integration. If Thailand really wants to improve its English proficiency, instead of just talking about or wishing it, then many will have to accept the people that teach it and the different cultures they bring with them, and their different ideas and experiences. Yet it’s also an issue that relates to the wider context of Thailand’s education system and those who control it. Without the desire to accept new ideas and the ability to ask questions, then all are bound to be left behind, lost in a culture of repression. If only I could put that in Thai. Share

A classroom environment in which students seldom experience academic failure, or suffer the consequences of doing so, can also lead to a culture of unmotivated, complacent students. When the default grade is a pass, some students feel no need to work. Share

jesus was love.......

They say that the only way to god is throu jesus, and jesus was love, he became the embodiment of love, he walked the walk and could talk the talk, he was able to practice what few can practice, and so his life became the sermon, but he didnt give any instruction or advice on how to reach that state of pure love, there are only a few mentions of things to do such as reflection, meditation, but no real indepth ideas. Now this is what different religions, faiths, roads etc try to do, with their rules and guides, but often these are to simple, and don't explain enough about how and why people do things. So to reach god, we must also "become" love but the road is different for everyone, even those of the same religion, as people from different cultures, faiths, concepts, and systems, and of course experinces, and we are born with different talents. So the path to god is, and u dont need religion, churches or temples to reach that path. Share

Where's the sacrifice?

How can anyone say that jesus gave up his life for our sins. When he died he entered eternal heaven, if he really was going to sacrifice himself, he should of gone to hell, for eternal suffering and pain, now that would of been the ultimate sacrifice. But being rewarded by entering heaven, where there is apparently no pain or suffering, then there is no sacrifice. So by giving up his body, he was rewarded with eternal happiness, peace or what ever it is heaven is suppossed to be. I dont consider that a sacrifice at all. Otherwise then extremist muslims who commit suicide would also end up in heaven for giving up their lives, but we all know that cant be. Share

How to discipline positively? American Humane encourages parents and other caregivers to use techniques that constitute a positive and appropriate discipline of children, such as: Discipline with love Listen and communicate Focus on the behavior, not the child Respond immediately Relate the discipline to the offending behavior in duration and severity Be realistic Remain calm Be fair Do not harm or injure Set boundaries Make it a learning opportunity Be consistent Be creative Develop rules and expectations in advance Use timeouts Reward or praise desirable behaviors Model desired behavior Encourage the child’s cooperation and understanding Develop behavioral contracts and incentive charts Share

parents responsibility

The single greatest factor in a child's ability to succeed in their education other than the child's own ability and will, is the parents, they are the and last teachers, they are their from the first day, and should be their everyday. Schools come and go, and teachers are many, so the only single thread are the parents. The more time and involvement their is from the parents and family, the more a child will succeed. Education is a great investment, one you will get ten fold in return, and one that requires more time than money. Share

humans ay.......

Why is it that humans cant get past their basic animal instincts, and evolve mentally? How is that after so many teachers from the past 3000 years, we have not been able to realize the truth? Just imagine what could be achieved if we all lost our jealousy and greed. Imagine what could be done if we stopped trying to impress others, and instead love. It always seems like people are trying to undermine and take or get something from others. Why is it so hard for people to break out of the systems they are born into? People aren’t born locked in, its not innate to judge others, its not in the genes to gossip. Its amazing how tense we get and not be aware of it Share

Within u must go

Only by looking within, will we be able to cool our hearts, by reflecting upon our own thoughts and actions, will we see how little control we have, and how automatic so much of our lives have become, so many people today are confused, they are unable to understand the reasons for their own feelings, actions and thoughts, that they are consistently feeling anxious and unable to define their own life.
