The country is now near the bottom for press freedom, as the country attempts to regain and reinstate its status as a "free" country, and recover the millions lost from dodgy deals, and cheap construction under the Thaksin lead government. Its was also proven by a journalist from the Bangkok Post that most of the laws and systems that he put in place while in government greatly increased the value of his many companies, some of which doubled and trippled in value while he was in charge. He now spends $55,000 dollars (1911250 baht), a month to an advertising/image company in America to improve his image, how can a government with no money already compete with such a campaign. How many honest people have to spend that amount of money for advertising (propaganda)??
