9. Conscious evolution. This insight is a vision of culture in the next millennium. Humans consciously participate in their evolution by living according to their intuition, which guides them in such a way as to increase their energy. Population decreases so much that most of the world can be allowed to return to wilderness, creating old-growth forests full of energy. The means of survival are automated and available to everyone. Their sense of purpose is satisfied by "the thrill of our own evolution". People will consume less and work less so that they can work on their evolution. (Redfield is ambiguous about this: Lower consumption may not be necessary because people will pay you for your spiritual insights. "When people come into our lives at just the right time to give us the answers we need, we should give them money." [page 226])
The goal of this evolution is to achieve a level of vibration that makes us invisible to others, perhaps even immaterial. Jesus was the first to do this, and sporadic individuals continue to do so. (The main character's mentor does so in the conclusion of the book.) The ultimate goal is for large groups to "cross over" together in a "general rapture". The Mayans are alleged to have done this.



9. Our purpose here is to evolve beyond this plane. Fewer people (a result of reproductive abstinence) and more old-growth forests will help us to sustain our energy and accelerate our evolution. Technology will do most of our work for us. As we begin to value spiritual insight more and more, we will pay those who bring it to us, and this will eventually replace the market economy and our need for paid employment. We can connect to God's energy in such a way that we will eventually become beings of light, and walk straight into heaven.


The next evolution Ive been saying for years will be a spiritual one as people begin to wake up to what is true and what is false, societies will shift, crime will fall and happiness will increase as mental suffereing is reduced. We are already seeing many drops in the populations birth rates, which many see leading to economic disaster. This is probably true if humans remain dead in the water, but if the next human evolution does manifest itself, it will not be a disaster for the world. In regards to giving money, i think it would be more beneficial if people gave food, clothes medicince etc. As i feel money will begin to lose its allure and its hold on many people and nations around the world. We will return to the basic necessities that all people need in life, and technology will advance in ways never before seen. As so much money is spent on weapons this will greatly be reduced, and be put back into hospitals education and research that will actually benefit us and the Earth. This i feel is a few centuries away.
