I think its naïve and arrogant to say that we are any closer to a critical mass when still a large portion of the population are still so poor and with out decent living conditions, that they are more concerned about getting food and clothes. Also it’s going to take more than just an awareness of coincidences to create the critical mass. The restlessness arises from a basic awareness of something not quite right, but is still unable to recognize the cause. And who are the “Everybody” referred to, I still find in many cultures and counties the people aren’t even looking and are still so consumed by material gain, that I feel we are still year’s maybe decades away from this growing awareness to begin, let alone a critical mass that’s going to change the world. I fear that with advent of globalization, there is a very good chance that all countries will become more equal in the standards of living. Which could be the beginning of the end for us all, with so much hatred in the world caused by religion. The pressure will only increase for us all too just “get along”.

There are so many addictions out there, but why??? I think primarily it has to do with peoples inability to enjoy the silence of the present...

XXXXXXXXXXXXX To be devil's advocate. The teachings of Christ are 2000 years old and the teaching of the Buddha are about 3000. Has anything really changed since their revelations?
XXXXXXXXXXXXX Things have changed. But how do you measure the change due to something like that? It must've been different back then, but we can only guess how by reading the bible and other old books about society. Perhaps they were critical to civilizing society as were the great philosophers of Greece. Perhaps philosophers change society while Buddha and Jesus changed minds, spirit, hearts.
second heaven the buddhas r about 2500, and no much hasnt changed in that sense but think how far far we have come in other areas, before we had no choice to believe in the church, but now we r begining only in the last 400 years to realize the church do...esnt have all the answers, never beta have we been able to understand better about our environment and ourselves, also we need to begin the eastern and western spirituality together, the east has focused on the with in, the west on the outside, and its only recently that we have actually been able to confirm about what the buddha taught with science, that religion in the past hadnt allowed, or that we didnt have the technology or understanding to
second heaven human beings havent changed much because we have become so absorbed into changing our outside world, we have yet to really esp in the west investigate the human mind, and if uhave seen inception u will c no one can change that isnt already prepared to be changed
